CAMERA TESTS AND FOOTAGE
When first planning out GET LAMP, my intention was to shoot in high definition. In 2005,
a number of possible cameras presented themselves as options, and I studied a number of
them. I'm a big believer that images are the final decision-maker, so I was spending some
time grabbing as many pieces of footage and shots as I could. None of these shots and
images are from the GET LAMP documentary. All of them were shot by others and put up
on various message boards to share with the community. After spending time with all the
options, I wavered between the Sony FX1/Z1U (different models of the same basic camera)
and the Panasonic HVX-200. I ultimately went with the HVX-200, but if you are a moviemaker
who is scouting around for equipment (and I certainly remember how much scouting around I
did) then your conclusions might be different.
As a service/giveback to the community, I am continuing to host these images and footage
that I have, and will put up others as I can. I am not the original owner/creator and so
I have no insight into where these are ultimately from or what the original factors of
the shots were.
